All our new franchise owners benefit from extensive training as part of our onboarding process.
The We Make Footballers training course will help you develop the skills and confidence you need as a youth football coach, using principles taken from the FA and category 1 academies. It covers everything you need to start running your coaching business.
Our franchises are perfect for anyone interested in taking an active role in grassroots football, or for anyone wanting to turn their passion for football into their next career move.

The payment for your franchise covers the initial training you will receive as a new franchise owner. We have developed our training syllabus using principles learned from the FA and techniques learned from some of the world’s top football clubs. Through our training you’ll learn to deliver coaching sessions that integrate these techniques. Where possible, our in person training is conducted at The Lensbury, a truly stunning venue and hotel, in Teddington in South West London.
As a new franchise owner, you’ll visit us at our training facilities at The Lensbury in Teddington, for 3 days of in-person training. Following that, you’ll also require around 20 hours’ remote training to get up to speed (this can also be completed at Head Office if you wish).
The first day of our training is based around our company values, ethos and coaching philosophy. It’s a great way to get to know the team and to meet other franchisees. We’ll go at your pace – we don’t like to rush the process, and we want you to be able to get everything you can out of it! Where possible, we will host this training in the amazing meeting facilities at The Lensbury. If you are feeling like pampering yourself, for an additional extra, feel free to book yourself in at The Lensbury’s hotel and spa over the course of the training.
On day 2, you’ll move onto learning about how to deliver coaching sessions, safeguarding children and how to recruit and manage your coaching staff. You’ll also learn sales and marketing techniques to enable you to promote your new business within your community and attract new talent. Where available, each day will be fully catered at The Lensbury with breakfast, lunch, snacks, tea and coffees throughout the day.
This covers anything that could not be completed in the first two days of training, usually using the booking software and finance training. You’ll also have the chance to ask any questions you might have.
Your franchise fee includes ongoing training throughout your career as a franchisee. Starting in 2024, new franchises will also receive a free Veo Cam as part of the fee. While you’ll be responsible for the ongoing subscription, you’ll have the added benefit of submitting session recordings to head office for specific feedback on running your academy.
